Active resident Irene Lewington recently turned 90 years of age and she celebrated by doing a jump for St Joseph's Hospice. Irene believes that the hospice is the best place that you can rest when you're ill. Some of Irene's friends have received fantastic care at St Joseph's.
Irene is Hackney born and bred and is supporting a Hackney charity as a way of giving back to the community.
St Joseph’s Hospice opened in Hackney in 1905, and since then has been caring for and supporting people affected by serious illness in eight London boroughs.
They work to improve the quality of life of more than 2,100 patients with life-limiting conditions each year, helping them live life to the full, to the very last.
